Corvallis Beer Week is Aug. 25-Sept. 2

For nine days beginning Friday, August 25, Corvallis will be a hub of fun and creative beer events, including the wonderful Septembeerfest under the trees in Avery Park. Corvallis Beer Week events run the gamut from tastings with brewers to beer pairing dinners to educational tours. Sponsored by the taproom and food truck pod Common Fields, Corvallis Beer Week invites participants to engage deeper with the beer community.

The event list can be found on the Visit Corvallis website, and on Facebook.

The week begins with a kickoff march in downtown Corvallis to officially set the mood. CBW is bookended by brewfests: Septembeerfest and an Oktoberfest celebration at Common Fields. The former features most, if not all, of Corvallis’ breweries, as well as guests from surrounding areas and a few from elsewhere in Oregon. With over 80 beverages on tap, and a beard and mustache competition, this annual nonprofit benefit event is always delightful.

OSU’s Fermentation Science program is opening its facility to tours on Monday 8/28, which is a great opportunity to get some of your nerdy questions answered and see what’s new in the world of beer science.

Do you miss beer pairing dinners as much as I do? If you haven’t been to see the completely remodeled Caves restaurant, Tuesday 8/29 is a golden opportunity to see them strut their stuff with a 6-course pairing dinner. Tickets are a cool $100 and available here.

It’s been a few years since Corvallis Beer Week has made an appearance, and it looks like that absence has made for some thirst-inducing events.
